After a good bit of handwringing, I've decided to start a blog to chronicle our journey to adopt a child from Ethiopia. So far, the process has not made for much exciting news, as 99% of it involves filling out paperwork, and so I thought, "who wants to read about the latest form we had to process?"
But I've read some blogs from other families on the same journey, and I've been impressed with how their blogs have enabled those who care to follow along with them more closely. I'm hoping that the posts you find here will help you, our friends and family, to hear more of what's going on in this often tedious process of adoption. Most of the details we find too pedestrian to share when we're talking on the phone, but I hope it will help those of who are interested to follow along more closely with us.
The first few posts will be "fake" in the sense that they're not happening as we write them--they'll describe things we already experienced just to get everyone caught up. After that, we'll try to keep you current with regular postings.
